Dance!
Our history with dance goes a long way. Heather danced from age 4 all the way through college. In college she taught 3 dance classes for her Dance club and was in charge of organizing a team to film the recitals her last 2 years then editing and delivering them. Once she left ships, Heather started shooting for DanceBug. When our oldest daughter was old enough, she started dancing for Studio B Dance Center and they just happen to need a photographer that year. The year after we started, they then needed a videographer. Since then we have taken care of all photo and video needs for Studio B. In addition, we have been shooting for Evolution Dance Company since their 2nd year in business and have picked up a few recitals here and there. We LOVE shooting dance and are hoping to add a few more studios to our client list this year.
Photos
We have 2 full studio background setups. One is large enough to fit group photos, up to about 20 kids and one for small groups and solo photos. We offer a basic black, white or green screen background as well as a classic muddled grey which looks great with dance costumes. Having a history of dance, Heather is comfortable posing the dancers according to the style of dance but can also discuss poses with the teachers to match their dance. With the older kids, if time allows, Heather will have some fun with them and try to get them in action!
Video
We have a lot of experience with filming dance, properly! Setting manual exposure and focus during filming makes sure that we can see dancers faces clearly. We always film with 2 cameras so that no moments are missed. We have a wide camera and a roaming close up camera. We also setup a audio recorder at the base of the stage to capture the tap routines as well as try to either get a line feed of the live audio or follow up with getting the playlist of songs for the routines. We have 2 different options for video. If you do not want to have to manage orders from your families, we can offer a low booking fee to come shoot the event and then take care of orders. Our other option is a flat rate to shoot the event and deliver it to you, the studio owner, and then you can distribute or sell the video however you would like. Every studio has a different need so we are always open to figuring out what the best option for your studio is.
